Hello fellow stampers and Happy Friday! Hope everyone is staying well and not getting too smoked out with all these fires going on right now. We have one about 25 miles from our house here in Colorado so have been getting a lot of smoke mainly in the mornings. Pray for rain and relief soon for all affected!
I tried out the emboss resist technique on today's card. I have seen so many pretty cards done using this technique and had to give it a shot myself.
For this card, I used Whisper White cardstock as the base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). My next layer is a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. To distress the edges, I ran the edge of my bone folder along the edges of the cardstock. The next layer is a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the images with Versa Mark ink using the Forever Fern stamp set. I then embossed the images with white embossing powder. I sponged over the entire piece using Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam and Blushing Bride Stampin' Pads. The cool thing about resist embossing, is that after you've sponged over the cardstock and images, you can just wipe off any ink from the stamped images with a paper towel. The ink resists the embossed image. So neat! For the stamped sentiment. I used the Tasteful Labels dies on Crumb Cake cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Blushing Bride and I also applied a few Elegant Faceted Gems to the front and some ribbon behind.
