Fun Fold with Forever Fern

I have to admit, I'm not super crazy about doing fun folds. Truth is, I haven't really attempted them too often. I think they intimidate me. However, when I saw this one, I thought, why not? I was really pleased with myself and surprised at how easy it was and neat these cards are!

Here are the instructions for this card:

The base of the card is 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2 and 1 1/2. Fold in half at 5 1/2 and fold the smaller flap piece down. I did two variations of this card. One was with Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the other I stamped using the Forever Fern stamp set. Either way, you will need a piece measuring 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 and one measuring 4 x 1 1/4. I also had a piece behind the larger one measuring 4 x 2 1/2. I adhered those pieces to the front of the card first. I then applied a line of glue inside the card base going up to where the flap is folded down. You're essentially making a pocket. Then take some twine and wrap it around the card a few time before tying a know somewhat to the left side. For these cards, I stamped a sentiment on the circle die cut pieces in the Tasteful Labels die set. I also used a couple die cut pieces from the Forever Fern dies to add the gold pieces on the green card. I punched little holes into these pieces and threaded the twine through before knotting it again. For the piece inside the card that is inserted into the pocket, you need a piece measuring about 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and one measuring 3 x 5 1/4. You can stamp a sentiment on that smaller piece as well, adhere them together and then punch a hole/slit at the top to insert some ribbon. There are so many options with this card design. You can't go wrong and I LOVE that!

My full list of supplies are below aside from the blue ribbon which is included in the Stampin' Up! Boho Indigo Medley (item #153132) and the tan twine that can actually be substituted with either the Linen Thread (item #104199) or the Braided Linen Trim (item #147808).
